讲座信息:Designing one-dimensional nanostructures for flexible electronic applications

Abstract:
Flexible/bendable electronics is an emerging and promising technology for the next generation of optoelectronic devices in various applications such as rollup displays, smart electronics, and wearable devices. Compared with the most popular organic materials for flexible electronics, inorganic semiconductor nanostructures have the features of excellent conductivity, better electronic mobility and chemical stability.
In my talk, I will briefly introduce our recent progress in developing one-dimensional inorganic nanostructures for flexible electronic applications. In the first part, several kinds of flexible photodetectors, including UV detectors, visible light detectors, with fast response to light irradiation, excellent flexibility will be introduced. Then, I will give some introduction to our work on flexible energy storage devices, including flexible lithium-ion batteries, flexible all-solid-state supercapacitors. In the final part, combining the flexible photodetectors and the flexible energy storage devices into self-powered flexible photodetector nanosystems was discussed, which may have great application in next generation optoelectronic devices.

Biography:
Guozhen Shen received his Ph.D degree from University of Science and Technology of China in 2003. From 2004-2009, he worked in Hanyang University (Korea), National Institute for Materials Science (Japan) and University of Southern California (USA). From 2009-2013, he worked in Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Now, he is a professor in Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
His research interests include designing one-dimensional inorganic semiconducting nanostructures for flexible electronic and optoelectronic applications, such as thin-film transistors, photodetectors, lithium batteries, supercapacitors, etc. He has published more than 160 papers in peer-reviewed journals with a H-index of 36. He is the editor or editorial board member for more than ten journals.
